Help guests join your guest Wi-Fi without typing a long network name and password.

Log in to Skipto before you begin.

1. Use a guest network

Choose the guest Wi-Fi network intended for visitors. Confirm its network name, password and security type. Use the exact spelling and capitalisation. The router label below shows example details; check that you use your guest network’s current details.

2. Choose the Wi-Fi QR type

In Skipto, find the Static QR options and select WiFi, as shown below.

3. Enter your details and create the code

Enter the exact guest network name in Network SSID and its password in Password. Generate the code and download it. Treat it like the Wi-Fi password: anyone who can scan or decode it may be able to use those network credentials.

4. Test with a guest device

Use a phone that is not already connected to the network. Scan the code and follow the phone’s prompt to join. Confirm that internet access works. The reception illustration below shows how a guest can scan a small sign on the counter.

5. Put it where guests need it

Add the code to a welcome card, reception sign, meeting-room wall or whiteboard. Include the network name and any instructions guests need. Place it where visitors can scan comfortably.

6. Replace it when details change

Wi-Fi credentials are stored in this static code. If the network name, password or security type changes, generate a new code and replace the printed copies. Static Wi-Fi scans do not pass through a tracked web link.
